Future of Dance in Bowman

Hello Supporters, I first want to apologize for not writing or planning a dance camp recently.  Some of you may know, but I have been having difficulties with an employee of the rec center and brought it to the boards attention.  That being said, I thought me driving down to Bowman from Bismarck was appreciated by all, that is apparently not the case.  Since writing a letter to the Board, I asked for a contract to be written for the sake of both parties.  The Board did this and gave me two options in continuing to come teach dance.  They are: either pay 3 times more for rent a weekend and buy my own insurance, OR continue to use the rec centers liability insurance and they take 70% of what I charge for the camps.

In my letter I made it very clear that my mother and I come down because we enjoy it and love the kids so much, NOT because I make a ton of money or come out even sometimes with expenses.  I feel very hurt and not wanted in the community.  I know this is not the case for most of you, but I am not sure what to do or how I feel about this situation.  I would love to hear feedback from my supporters.....YOU!!!! on how to approach this situation.  Even if I were to raise my prices to make up for the extra expenses now, I'm not sure I want to deal with the rec center any more.  I would love any ideas or comments you have, whether positive or negative.  I need to hear them all. 

I hope to find a way to work something out for the near future.....I MISS MY STUDENTS!!!!

Feb 10th-12th/ RECITAL!!!!

As most of you already know the second weekend of dance, along with the recital is the weekend of Feb. 10-12th.  The schedule is the same as the last time with the exception of Sunday.  The recital will be at 1:pm but please note the doors to the gym will NOT open until 12:45pm.  Again I would like the kids to wear all black with an accent color for each group: 2yr old-preschool will be pink/purple, Kind-1st will be orange/animal print, 4th-6th will be any neon color, 7th will be red.  If you have any questions please give me a call or email me.  Should be a great recital!!!

Friday January 27th
2:30pm-3:30pm: 2yr old - pre-school
3:30pm-4:30pm: Kind-2nd grade
6pm-7pm: 4th-6th grade
7pm-8pm: 7th and up

Saturday January 28th
10am-11am: Kind-2nd grade
11am-12pm: 2yr old - pre-school
2pm-3pm: 4th-6th grade
3pm-4pm: 7th and up

Sunday January 29th
11am: 4th-7th
12:30pm: Kind-2nd grade
12:45pm: 2yr old- pre-school
Recital: 1pm!!!

Dance Camp January 27th-29th

I hope everyone had a relaxing, wonderful holiday season!  I sure am loving the weather so far.....probably not after this cold week though :)  SPOILED!

I will be back the weekend of the 27th-29th (weather permitting) for another dance camp at the Bowman Rec Center.  It will be a 2 weekend camp with the second weekend in February, but again that weekend is not set yet.  You can choose if you would like to pay for one weekend or both.  It is $40 for one weekend or $70 for both. Children ages 2 (prefer out of diapers) through 18 are welcome.  My contact information is at the bottom so please email, facebook, text, or call me to sign up.

Last time I was down I had a belly dancing class for adults and older kids who wanted to try it.  If anyone is interested please let me know and I will do another class.  I can do all three days again or I could do one early evening Saturday class.  Maybe more of you would be willing to try it if its only one night :) (and then it could be ladies night after that with your girlfriends!)
